Evaluation
"通过HSKK(初级)的考生可以听懂并用汉语口头表达较为熟悉的日常话题,满足基本交际需求。
通过HSKK(中级)的考生可以听懂并用汉语较为流利地与汉语为母语者进行交流。
通过HSKK(高级)的考生可以听懂并用汉语流利地表达自己的见解。"
It is important to measure your progress and success during learning, evaluation is now intergrated into some lessons.
For Mandarin students, evaluation will be in the form of a mock HSK exam(汉语水平考试) for listening, reading and writing and a mock HSKK(口试), oral exam for conversational Mandarin. This evaluation is for personal use only, if students would like to register for official HSK exams, please visit HSK's official website for registration instruction.
Evaluations will be given periodically through out the course of our curriculum, usually a discussion with the individual student will occur before the evaluations. Students can also request an evaluation if he/she feels ready. An HSK exam usually takes about one to two hours, but an oral exam will take no more than 30 minutes.
For Cantonese students, currently there aren't any standardized exam to test your proficiency. I borrowed the standards set by HSKK and divided into three stages: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. For details please click here.

I adopted the standards set by HSKK for Mandarin students and developed the following level system for Cantonese students:
-
Beginners can listen and understand familiar daily topics, satisfy basic social communication needs in simple Cantonese.
-
Intermediate learners can listen and understand a native Cantonese speaker, conduct relatively fluent communication with native Cantonese speakers.
-
Advanced learners can listen and understand Cantonese, as well as fluently express their own opinions in Cantonese.
